The Dockt Process

Six steps, done for you.

1

Choose your products

Browse the store and pick what's right for your venue: a single Dockt Plate or a multi-pack. Decide on Smart or Smart Plus based on how much control you want after delivery.

2

Submit your order request

Fill in the checkout form with your venue details, branding notes and shipping address. Tell us about your brand colours, table numbers, or any specific design requests in the notes field.

3

Share your logo & assets

After you submit, we'll reach out within 1–2 business days. Send us your logo (vector preferred, PNG works too), your brand colours, and any other design references. The more you give us, the better the result.

4

We design your plates

Our design team creates your branded artwork. We'll send you a digital proof before production begins. You can request revisions at this stage: we want it to look right on your tables.

48hr
turnaround

Your design proof lands in your inbox within 48 hours of receiving your assets. Revisions included — no extra charge. We don't press print until you're happy.

5

Approve, pay & produce

Once you're happy with the design, we send a payment link. After payment, we produce your plates: printing, laminating, cutting, NFC programming and QA checking each one individually.

6

Delivered tap-ready

Your order arrives at your venue, tap-ready. Peel the adhesive backing, press to your table, and you're live. For Smart setups, your dashboard is activated and ready to use on arrival.

Technology

NFC vs QR: what's the difference?

Both work. Here's how to choose for your venue.

NFC

Near Field Communication. Guests tap their phone to the plate — no app required, no camera needed. Works on all modern iPhones (XR and later) and Android phones natively.

Faster interaction: single tap, no scanning
Premium feel: invisible technology, cleaner design
Works in low-light environments where QR is hard to scan
Slightly more expensive than QR

QR Code

Quick Response code. Guests open their camera and scan the code. Works on every smartphone with a camera, regardless of age or model. Universally understood.

Works on every phone: no NFC required
Slightly lower cost than NFC
Generic and not visually appealing
Requires camera scanning: one more step

Our take: NFC works best for table-top touchpoints in sit-down venues. Think of it as the physical equivalent of a button. Guests hold their phone near the plate, it opens in a second, no effort. QR codes require the camera app. NFC wins on speed and first impressions. Can't decide? Ask us.
